The Art of Calacatta Monet
For this Brighton project, the vision was to create a kitchen that feels timeless and quietly indulgent. Working with Ali Bilal, a developer with a clear eye for detail, the focus was on shaping a space where material takes the lead, and every element feels intentional.
At the centre of it all is the Calacatta Monet marble, chosen for its expressive character. Sweeping veins of soft gold and deep grey move across the surface like brushstrokes, giving the stone a sense of depth and individuality. Used across generous, uninterrupted areas, it becomes the defining feature of the kitchen.
The palette is warm and considered. Natural timber cabinetry grounds the space, while brushed brass accents introduce a subtle richness. There is a softness to the overall scheme, with a gentle nod to bohemian styling, though the execution remains firmly rooted in high-end design.
The scale of the stone plays a key role in how the space is experienced. Broad, seamless surfaces allow the pattern to unfold naturally, creating a calm and immersive atmosphere. Nothing feels overworked or overly detailed. Instead, the kitchen carries a quiet confidence, where the beauty of the material speaks for itself.
